Who We Are

 

MA YOGA is a group of yoga teachers dedicated to helping women find joy, transformation and community on their journey to motherhood and beyond. We teach yoga in available spaces – home studios, lofts – where women can gather, share stories and tips, find guidance and support, and use muscles and breath to align with the highest. Our yoga is therapeutic for common aches and pains, strengthening – and fun!

 

Our teachers are inspired by the Anusara philosophy of learning to “skillfully move in the current of the heart,” and we continue to study and practice ways of applying this philosophy in our lives to find more freedom, steadiness, and joy. We use the Anusara Universal Principles of Alignment in our teaching, which help on all levels reduce pain and deepen our connection to innate strength.

   

We believe that beautiful births come in all different forms and locations, so we try to provide support for whatever kind of birth feels right for women and their families. We offer resources and encouragement for people to educate themselves on their options, and on the pros and cons of every choice. We support each woman in her decisions and offer ways she can stay safe, connected, empowered wherever she gives birth.

The syllable “ma” in most languages means mother, nurturing, the energy the embraces us all. MA YOGA is an invitation to learn to receive this nurturing energy – always accessible within us and all around – so that we can continue to enjoy nurturing those we love.
