for both body and the nervous 1st-time mom soul.

Kristina D.

Ma Yoga was exactly what I needed!

I always felt a lot better after class than before, more relaxed and with less aches and pains.

I highly recommend Ma Yoga to any pregnant woman, but especially yoga-nitwits like me who need some extra reassurance and support.

Trynke DeJong

The instructors are knowledgeable and confident.

I only wish I found this when I was pregnant!

Leilani W.

I started going to Ma Yoga when I was 16 weeks pregnant.  It was the best thing I could have done for myself!

Prenatal yoga helped a lot with the normal aches and pains of pregnancy.

I felt myself getting stronger and overall feeling much better each time I went.  It also helped me deal with the stress of being pregnant.

Kristin L.

These yoga classes are great. I often walk in feeling like my back and hips are all out of whack and then walk out feeling *amazing*.

I love the community here too – it’s a very supportive place.

All choices are embraced and that feels really nice.

Lyra K.

I just wanted to drop you a line and express my gratitude for the confidence you’ve inspired in me as I approach labor. Your class was like a lifeline, with your words of wisdom echoing through me as I approach the big day and beyond!

Additionally, the learning and insightful instruction I’ve received has led to a much more comfortable last month than I anticipated.

Angie W.

Thank you again for another great class. You don’t know how much I love coming every week.

Not only is it nice to finally “move” my body, but I love being able to connect with Grayson.

And he loves doing yoga with mommy too!

Jennifer W.

Practicing yoga with my baby next to me is such a rewarding experience – even if I only get to do a few poses, a little goes a long way.

Jessica is an amazing yoga teacher, especially for pre and post natal women who need a little extra care from an experienced teacher.

Her class is challenging, but gentle, and I leave feeling like I’ve had a spa day.

Tiffany F.

I can’t tell you enough how much yoga helped me, not only through my pregnancy, but also through labor.

I know that it made all the difference for my health, and also for my body & mind through pregnancy and when I was laboring and pushing.

Can’t thank you guys enough!

Lilly-Jade

I am so thankful for my experience with yoga and I am so excited to continue my practice now that my baby is here.

I love having dedicated ‘me time’ in the calendar. Yoga definitely changed my life.

I am more at peace with myself now than I ever have been before.

Kelley L.

My prenatal class with Ma Yoga has been the best thing in my life. I am now 29 weeks pregnant, and I know this class has made all the difference in the quality of my pregnancy experience.

I feel healthy, strong and empowered; both mentally and physically. I have Ma Yoga to thank!!

Vicky V.

LOVE LOVE LOVE my classes with Jessica at Ma Yoga!!! I’ve been attending since I was 21 weeks and I’m now 26 weeks.

I feel more relaxed and calmer about the prospect of giving birth – it was VERY nerve-racking to think of it before I started my classes.

It helps you breathe and strengthen and just feel more confident that “you can do this”!!!! 🙂

Kate F.

I finally didn’t feel so alone in the journey and I learned so much about what I can do during labor.

I literally reared up.

Thank you Ma Yoga.

Erika L.

Yoga has relieved the discomfort and the aches of pregnancy and made the experience more enjoyable.

It has made me aware of simple things I can correct on a daily basis to relieve common pregnancy symptoms.

I learn something new every week.

Melissa C.

Melanie, everything you taught me over the past six months came into play and helped prepare me for that wonderful night.

I will never be able to fully express how honored and grateful I feel for all the wisdom you shared with me as I took your class, but my husband, my mother, and I agree that it all played into my ability to stay focused and have a wonderful child birth experience.

Alex T.

It has helped me get back my strength and feel like myself again during pregnancy.

Overall, I have seen significant improvement in my ongoing back & chest pain as well.

I feel very relaxed and flexible after each class and plan to continue it through out my pregnancy.

Anshima R.

When I told a friend that my lower back started hurting, she recommended prenatal yoga.

I found Ma Yoga online and started taking Ma Yoga classes virtually.

Wow, my lower back rarely hurts anymore! I also appreciate the chance to hear what other pregnant participants are experiencing at the start of each class.

J.P.S.

Learning so much, and my sciatica pain is so much better since I started taking prenatal classes.

Thank you so much🙏

Tara J.

Thanks for caring so much and for your amazing class Melanie!

All the techniques I learned and practiced in your yoga class also helped me to achieve this birth.

Marc H.

My Ma Yoga prenatal yoga class was an invaluable part of my pregnancy.

I know my baby and I became stronger, and flourished because of your instruction!

Wendy O.

Melanie, everything you taught me over the past six months came into play and helped prepare me for that wonderful night.

I will never be able to fully express how honored and grateful I feel for all the wisdom you shared with me as I took your class.

Brookelin

On Wednesdays, I feel less physical pain, I always feel more grounded.

It’s easier to attend all the needs of my kids.

Your class is truly nurturing my soul and my body.

Judit

I find that the exercises are really helpful for pregnancy and for labor prep.

Plus the teachers are really attentive to different people’s bodies and their varying needs based on belly size and stage of pregnancy.

Fatimah

Ma Yoga classes prenatal yoga classes saved my sanity in my third trimester.

I didn’t start prenatal yoga until I was around 7 months pregnant, and the class allowed me to carve out time to focus on my own wellbeing as well as my baby’s.

Kathy B.

During my pregnancy Rachelle was my savior! It was my first baby, and my first time doing yoga.

I used so many techniques during my labor and they actually helped! I could hear her calming voice in my ear during contractions. There aren’t any words to express my gratitude for her class.

Noemi

Last night’s class helped soothe my nerves and bring me back to center.

The instructor was not only fantastic, she was kind, compassionate and informative about all things birth related.

Thanks Ma Yoga – I’ll be spending the rest of my pregnancy (and beyond) with you!

Jane H.

My class with Jessica has been the best thing in my life. I am now 29 weeks pregnant, and I know this class has made all the difference in the quality of my pregnancy experience.

I feel healthy, strong and empowered; both mentally and physically. I have Ma Yoga to thank!

Danielle S.

Whether you’ve done Yoga a lot before, or you have never tried it, Jessica is very welcoming and an excellent yoga teacher.

When I’m having a good day, or having a harder day, there’s really no excuse to not go to Ma Yoga because it 100% makes me feel even better.

Linda E.

Jessica Jennings is a talented teacher, and she comes with both nursing and alignment expertise.

You are in very good hands when you take her class!

Saron O.

I googled around and found Ma Yoga. I went to the first free class and enjoyed it. It was harder than I thought it would be, but I left feeling better.

My instructor was Jessica and I really loved her attitude and the class.

Sarah T.

I was glad to be able to finally come to a class now that they’re online!

I am going to keep coming…my body really enjoyed the hour of moving, stretching, and centering.

Jelena P.

I actually loved the class. I say actually because, as you know, yoga has never been my “thing” and computer stuff is also not my “thing” but Jess!

THANK YOU!

I’ve been walking around for 5 weeks with such pain in my knee/leg and all the alignment work in your Fundamentals class made me feel SO much better!

Sue B.

[Ma Yoga for Anyone] was so wonderful! It was the best online yoga class I’ve attended.

Thank you for sharing your energy and beautiful ma presence to help us move energy.

Dr. Carley C.

Awesome! Thank you so much! The virtual classes have been saving my life and I truly love these classes.

Laurie S.

Thank you for the Ma Yoga for Anyone class this morning. I am sooo wiped out I can’t believe it! Feels great.

Gary K.

Thank you so much for your wonderful gift of [Ma Yoga for Anyone] today. My legs are still shaking but I feel less anxious.

You are amazing!! Can’t thank you enough for your encouragement to join you this morning.

I needed it emotionally and physically.

Rosibel R.

The live online class was great! The teacher was very friendly and knowledgeable and made sure to incorporate moves based off of the body aches we all had, so it was a great class… I will definitely be back.

Kayla C.

From the moment I began yoga with you, I knew immediately I was in excellent hands! You and the other teachers have taught me so much, not only yoga but most importantly how to really relax.

Jessica, you are such a caring and beautiful person and I’m so amazed by what you do!

Thank you for helping me achieve being pain free which allowed me to enjoy the remainder of my pregnancy.

Sari D.

Having lost 2 previous pregnancies, I wanted to be extra cautious in my practice and exercise. I was welcomed and supported in every way.

The instructors have been wonderful! These caring instructors are full of ideas on how to modify poses.

Jenn R.

Thank you for all the great classes, it was really excellent to feel strong and confident throughout my pregnancy.

I actually thought about yoga class during labor!

Something you said a few times along the lines of not being afraid about what might happen during labor, just thinking “is that happening right now”… thank you for putting that idea into a more usable phrase.

Liza C.

I took the free class with Viviana on Wednesday and it was great so I am really excited to continue the practice.

Sonal G.

Thank you so much again for providing these tailored classes and community.

I told my therapist about it too because of the impact one class and your attentiveness had. It’s amazing. Thank you for this beautiful space and service.

Erica P.

Jessica’s non-prenatal Saturday morning class is a joy!

Her focus on alignment has gone a long way to improve my new sciatica injury.

She is extremely knowledgeable, patient, encouraging and fun. It is a great way to start the weekend.

Gary K.

I absolutely love Ma Yoga! I’ve been taking the prenatal classes since my second trimester and it has made my pregnancy a dream. I really enjoy getting to connect with other mom’s who are going through similar experiences at the beginning of each class and my body has never felt better.

When I first started I had terrible sciatica pain and before I knew it the pain was completely gone and my body still feels amazing, even now at 38 weeks!

I am so grateful to have found these classes and I know they are a big reason why I’ve felt so strong and confident throughout this pregnancy. I highly recommend!! It’s a 5/5 experience for sure.

Amanda B.

Best thing that I found during my pregnancy is Ma Yoga!

Since they have an everyday class option for prenatal yoga, it’s a great option to be able to attend whichever day you want to attend.

Aysegul B. - from our Google listing

I have loved all of the teachers I have met in these classes. They each take the time to get to know each person and their needs and then tailor the classes to those needs.

There is a great balance between mind and body and a lot of great pregnancy advice and knowledge!

Shana K. - from our Google listing

Jessica’s Saturday class has gone a long way in helping me relieve my low back pain and understand how the parts of my body fit together.

I really appreciate her focus on alignment and breath along with her explanations of the mechanics of the body. She is the best!

Spandana J

I come away from Melanie’s class feeling strong, relaxed, and empowered. It’s physical therapy for pregnant people. Move your body! It will thank you.

Janet B.

I love getting insights into different practices and how we can connect and learn from them and our surroundings. Every single class has been wholesome for my mind body soul and baby! I have truly found a wonderful teacher in Daho and I try not to miss her classes.

Salonee S.

I finished Ash’s class with a clear mind and my body felt more open, more aligned, and energized to face the rest of the day!

She started with a thoughtful meditation which I appreciated–it helped me let go of the rest of my day. Definitely recommend!

Marisa H.

Great instructor.

Belinda J.

I was engaged right away with such amazing asanas. Such poses are very helpful in which it prepares us during and before going into labor. Rachelle is an amazing instructor that cares about her students and her class is very welcoming.

Belinda J.

Melanie is amazing, I felt welcoming and love her cues. I enjoyed the class, learned, and practiced new ways on how to incorporate chair yoga in my daily life. After taking this class, I felt more positive, strong, and energetic.

Belinda J.

Daho was professional, kind, and super patient! As a mom-to-be, I get anxious so easily – she was just so kind, caring and eliminated all my worries by chatting and helping me get back to the yoga zone.

Xu H.

Angela’s class was so nice and made me feel more centered with great use of her cueing!

Jessea W.

Daho took time to understand my pain points and targeted postures and asanas that will help relieve my pain.

She kept checking on me throughout the session to make sure I was comfortable and doing ok.

After the session, the strain and stress that built up in my lower body was released to a great extent and I feel much less pain than what I had before the session.

Geetanjali D.

I felt amazing during and after the class.

I felt relaxed and relieved from the stress and strain built up in my lower body and overall as well.

Geetanjali D.

My first class with Daho was excellent!

I really enjoyed using the block in a variety of ways from on the mat to the wall and in a chair.

I also learned a new way of standing up from h/k’s on the mat using the blocks so they are keeping the legs hugging in and protecting the pubic symphysis.

Kim S.

I felt taken care of during Daho’s class!

She had a soothing voice and clear directions with encouragements.

I felt inspired to continue learning.

Shadman H.

I am currently 37 weeks pregnant with serious SPD symptoms.

I have experienced a lot of relief from my SPD pain by doing guided practice with Jessica and Daho.

They have been truly amazing with paying a lot of attention to my pain points and providing me with Yoga postures and exercises to target my pain and provide me relief from it.

How to Set Up For our Nurturing Prenatal Yoga Classes & Mom Yoga Classes

Our teachers always have a fun plan for class, and yet they love adjusting their plans for what YOU need and want! Take a minute in the beginning of class to let us know what’s going on with you so you can receive the support you need and support.

If you have time before hand:

  • Place your ipad, tablet or laptop on the floor or close to it
  • Place your mat as far away from it as you can, so we can see you
  • Then, sit close to your device on a folded blanket or towel and let us know what’s up!

Exhale and relax. We’ll do the rest. Enjoy and receive.

set up for pregnancy yoga, set up from Prenatal Yoga classes instructor Jessica Jennings - prenatal yoga instructor and founder, Prenatal Yoga Certification Program

Props are wonderful to have nearby – but not essential. They will support you throughout your journey to motherhood and beyond. Below are some examples of props we use often in class:

  • yoga blanket – or a big beach towel
  • two purple blocks or soup boxes
  • rectangular yoga bolster, or couch seat cushion (this is expensive but if you’re pregnant, save your pennies – it’s so worth it!)

After we chat, our prenatal yoga classes and mom yoga classes start with a guided meditation, and then gentle movements with breath.

As you move into more strengthening poses and deep stretches, you’ll be guided step-by-step through subtle alignment actions within each pose that will help you make space for breath (and baby if you’re pregnant), connect to your core and open up to receive the gifts of this moment.

More Testimonials for Ma Yoga

I really like Rachelle’s class because I find that the exercises she focuses on are really helpful for pregnancy and for labor prep, plus she’s really attentive to different people’s bodies and their varying needs based on belly size and stage of pregnancy.

It’s also cool because she’s a doula so her insights to birthing and labor have been really valuable.

A.R.

Colleen’s prenatal yoga class is amazing!

There’s plenty of repetition of postures for those who aren’t familiar with doing yoga to feel confident in what you are doing but enough variation for the experienced yogis to not feel like it’s routine.

Samantha

Jamie is an incredible teacher, with so much calm and helpful advice…wonderful all around!

Tasha V.

That class was f-ing awesome. I feel so much better!!!!!

You are an amazing teacher Jessica. Your ability to explain is crazy good.

Erica B.

I just want to take a quick minute to thank you SO much for these classes, Jess.  I REALLY look forward to them.

Not only can i feel my (now plumper) body strengthening, but I have noticed that when I am stressed I have a hard time breathing deeply.

Anyway, your class, the breathing and mostly YOU have helped me realize what that is and learn to take a moment and breathe.  I REALLY appreciate it.  Truly.

Gina S.

I had a wonderful experience with Rachelle during my pregnancy. She is extremely knowledgable about prenatal yoga and goes above and beyond to make sure you get the answers you are looking for during this precious time.

I would highly recommend her class!

Brooke D.

Rachelle is an INCREDIBLE instructor! I would not have gotten through my pregnancy without her.

Ilana N.

Rachelle is so knowledgeable and welcoming and I am so thrilled my sister told me about this gem! She beams warmth and passion for what she does.

She’s an incredible resource and she’s very attentive to everyone’s movement within the class.

I’m very excited that I found Rachelle and this class so early in my pregnancy so that I can make it a part of the rest of my journey.

Barri S.

Rachelle’s prenatal yoga class saved my sanity in my third trimester. I didn’t start prenatal yoga until I was around 7 months pregnant, and the class allowed me to carve out time to focus on my own wellbeing as well as my baby’s.

I learned so much about healthy pregnancy and from Rachelle and the other women in the class. The breathing techniques also came in super handy for pain management during labor and delivery.

Heidi S.

During my pregnancy Rachelle was my savior! It was my first baby, and my first time doing yoga.

I used so many techniques during my labor and they actually helped! I could hear her calming voice in my ear during contractions. There aren’t any words to express my gratitude for her class.

Kadijah W.

Thank you so much for recommending me to take Melanie’s and Rachel’s classes.

Learning so much from them and my sciatica pain is so much better since I started taking prenatal classes.  Thank you so much.

Seno R.

Jessica is so warm and supportive, with detailed knowledge of the body. She quickly became a key source of support throughout my pregnancy, helping me prepare for the biggest change of my life.

I have recently returned to Mommy and me yoga with my 7 month old and it felt like coming home. I can’t tell you how blissed out I felt all week after yoga. Truly the most amazing yoga class I have taken – such a nurturing and safe space.

Jessica Jennings is a talented teacher, and she comes with both nursing and [alignment] expertise – so you are in very good hands when you take her class!

Labe I.

Thanks for caring so much and for your amazing class Melanie!

All the techniques I learned and practiced in your yoga class also helped me to achieve this birth.

Patty

Great class with Hayley! She is a confident calming teacher. I really enjoyed her flow and the pace of the whole class.

Savannah F.

I took two abSOULutely fabulous classes today!

Lindy was my first class after a long hiatus, she was so soothing and healing for me. I went in feeling rusty and a bit “off”, I left class feeling safe and nurtured. Melanie’s class was also exceptional; her pelvic openers really soothed my lower back; it is tingling now in a state of ultimate relief!

Nina R.

The feeling that these amazing ladies, especially dear Melanie, give to pregnant women with pure love, care, peace and knowledge is priceless.

Jessie

I really loved Kathy’s affirmations around power and continuous encouragement of the mamas and their strength. It was great to practice strengthening muscles during the 1 minute time to prepare for contractions and labor.

I really enjoyed doing cat/cow throughout the practice in between shapes and poses before going back into downward dog. The whole practice felt really good in my body.

The mantra at the end was beautiful as well: “All that matters is that my baby is healthy and that I am healthy”. Great class!

Jessie B.

I participated in Kathy’s prenatal class today as a mom with a dog, toddler and 4 month old while I was trying to wrap up a work call. Kathy didn’t blink an eye.

I can’t believe how focused and calm Kathy was while not only guiding me but a handful of others. Her voice was calm and soothing and her flow was natural. I could get up leave and join back in with ease. Great job Kathy.

Thanks for helping this mom through whatever kind of yoga practice I can get!

Stephanie G.

Such a great class! This was after a year of not doing any yoga and Kathy was amazing. Very personable and welcoming and friendly. I will definitely be attending more of her classes. Thank you!

Kayla C.

Lindy is an amazing instructor. I felt so relaxed after and less tensed.

She was also so caring, attentive and took time to talk to each student to know them more.

Bonita C.

I thoroughly enjoyed my yoga class with Heather Johnson. Taking class with her was so calming and helped me with making more space for baby.

She checks in and explains the poses really well. I could tell she really enjoys teaching and connecting with her students.

I 100% recommend taking one of her classes!

Joanna R.

Hayley is a wonderful teacher, very sweet. I really disconnected and relaxed with her.

Jeanne B.

Every week, I look forward to my prenatal yoga time with Ash. She is an absolutely wonderful teacher and she sets such an empowering, loving, supportive tone to each and every class. She always infuses each session with an intention, a piece of wisdom, or a quote/thought and it’s a powerful way to connect to our bodies, movement, our babies, and the world around us. So thankful I found Ash! 5/5 stars for class every single time.

Anna C.

Enjoyed Heather Kampf’s Friday class! Heather demonstrates poses so that it is easy to follow her instructions; she also checks closely to see that I am in the correct position on the mat so I get the most out of each pose.

Donna C.

Daho is awesome. I had the free class with her and I liked practicing prenatal yoga that day itself.

I always wait for Wednesday when I can work out with her.

She customizes poses based on your week of pregnancy, pays attention to how are you doing, corrects them and the best part is you don’t feel tired after the class.

Heather led a nice class working to make “Breath with movement and staying in the present moment the goal over personal perfection” as her theme.

The class flowed nicely and Heather’s cueing was easy to understand.

I felt the Warrior poses were challenging in their hold time which was good as contractions are going to hang around for a while as well. Feeling that intensity and getting through it is great prep for labor.

Heather K. is a great teacher! I really enjoyed the Yoga for Busy Moms class she held today.

I loved her authentic voice, playful/not too serious class — I noticed myself smiling throughout the practice.

Loved the gratitude/body scan meditation at the beginning and the closing Om, focusing on taking the vibrations with me throughout the day.

Heather’s class was amazing.

She was warm and welcoming…the cues were so helpful; the flow and sequencing of the class was just what I needed.

She has a warm and welcoming presence – even thru zoom, you could feel her connection to those of us in the class. I will enjoy another class with her for sure!!

I am 38 weeks pregnant and I have been taking prenatal yoga with Lindy Ker. She is an amazing teacher.

She teaches a well-balanced intuitive, empowering, and centering class. I feel strong, confident, and alert after her classes.

I highly recommend Ma Yoga Living and taking a class with Lindy Ker.

LOVE IT! The teachers are always super loving and caring even though there are on the other side of the screen.

I met Ash earlier this week and she was teaching from Greece!!! The audio was perfect, no issues whatsoever, even though she was outdoors!

I loved her energy, her flow, she truly listened to me and another mommy and shared some wisdom on the yoga mat to attend to our needs on that day.

I particularly was having a headache and didn’t think I could do it.

Ash didn’t push me at all, she just allowed me to be there and join as I felt like it. Well, I ended up feeling great and the headache was gone!

I have taken many different yoga classes and these are by far the best.

I highly recommend Melanie for pregnancy yoga. She explains everything clearly and brings you into deep concentration during class.

Also, she knows a lot about pregnancy and birth and it’s very calming hearing her advice.

Jessica’s extensive knowledge of alignment is evident in every class.

Whether you’re pregnant, injured, or just dealing with common aches and soreness, Jess will weave in cues to address everyone’s needs without calling attention to anyone.

Her warm and optimistic personality infuses her classes with uplifting inspiration. Because she offers variations and refinements in every pose, her class is right for anyone.

The alignment-based yoga she teaches coupled with her extensive knowledge from decades of teaching bring such depth and compassion to her teaching. I intend to take her classes for as long as she is teaching.

Highly recommend these classes and all the trainers are so experienced and empathetic.

Spandana J

So enjoyed my first class with Melanie! Loved the chair series we did this evening….amazing! And grounding. Thank you!

Mo F.

Thank you so much for these practices Jessica!! The shoulder one was so helpful!

I have several joints that extend beyond range of motion and when some teachers give alignment queues and I follow them literally, I go too far.

I really appreciate that your alignment queues help account for this issue — as I suspect a good percentage of yogis have hypermobile joints…

Christine W.

Jessica is attentive and intuitive.

Her presence and feedback set me on my way to feeling better in no time!

Highly recommend Ma Yoga.

I took a class with Haley, and I would like to do it again.

It was relaxing and calming after a busy day, even with my daughter around.

Thank you, Hayley.
