After more than 20 years of teaching prenatal yoga in both hospital and yoga studio settings, I have come to think of pregnancy as more than its challenges.
I have come to see it as a doorway to feminine wisdom, power, and nurturing energy.

The Three Births of Pregnancy
More than one in three women report that their birth was traumatic. One in seven mothers experience postpartum depression. Black women are three times more likely to die in childbirth than white women.

The Yoga Of Birth Class Online
In this supportive 3-week online birth class, you will be guided by two highly experienced birth doulas, as well as Certified Ma Yoga teachers.
If you’re a birth doula or you would like to take a birth doula training on your own, you can credit out of this class. Otherwise, we’ve created an info-packed class that will teach you everything you’d learn in a birth doula training, except for the business part (and the cost).
Our foundation is that you can have a beautiful birth no matter where you are: hospital, home, birth center or even in between – and no matter what interventions you have or don’t have. It’s all about learning evidence based pros and cons about all your choices, and learning how to access inner and outer resources so you can:
The Yoga of Birth Class Online is not included in the Ma Yoga Online Prenatal Yoga Certification Program price, because doulas and those who choose to do a doula training may credit out of this course.

Here’s what’s NOT included when you register for the Ma Yoga Online Prenatal Yoga Certification Program:
A required birth education training.
You can choose to do our online birth training, The Yoga of Birth, OR take a doula training on your own.
If you think you might want to become a doula, you might want to check in to doula trainings in your area.
If not, our online training, The Yoga of Birth, is an uplifting exploration of all the choices and challenges around labor led by two highly experienced, nurturing birth and postpartum doulas.
Other requirements not included: six prenatal yoga classes ($50-ish) and a $30 Certification Fee at the end (this is waived if you choose to write a blog).
That’s totally fine.
You’ll get all the tools you need to start teaching mamas, and you’ll be Ma Yoga Certified at the end.
If you do decide to do a regular training in the future, the Ma Yoga Online Prenatal Yoga Certification (RPYT) program will give you a solid foundation for it.
If you choose to do a 200-hour yoga teacher training (RYT) down the road, you can submit your Ma Yoga Certificate to Yoga Alliance and get your RPYT at that time.
In the meantime, you can be sharing prenatal yoga in your “Mama Circle”!
Each of the four trainings is three weeks, twice-a-week – Wednesdays and Saturdays.
If you can’t make it to any of the sessions, you can watch the videos and stay in the nurturing current of the group.

After you’ve completed the Ma Yoga Prenatal Certification Program, you’ll have all the tools you need to teach prenatal yoga.
If you don’t have your Yoga Alliance RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher), you won’t be able to get the RPYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher) until you do.
However, if you just want to have your own “Mama Circle”, or just share yoga on your own, you’ll be more than ready!

Jessica Jennings has a masters degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis on pregnancy.
