Welcome to the Ma Yoga Live Online Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training & Certification Program

Reconnect to your feminine wisdom and power

“I love the profound wisdom of the methodology and Jessica, its founder. The Ma Yoga approach is not only beneficial in the time around giving birth, it can change your whole perspective on life.”

– Ann-Christin G.

We start on May 15.

Since 2012, I’ve been helping teachers and moms feel confident guiding and inspiring pregnant mamas.

Now that it’s all-online, it’s more affordable and accessible than ever.

You can start right away self-paced, and join us for our next training module live – or do almost all of it self-paced if that’s better for you.

However you choose to go about it – I can’t wait to support you on your unique “Ma” journey! 🙏💞

Hi I’m Jessica Jennings. I’m so glad you found your way here.

I created Ma Yoga® as a new mom in 2009 with the idea in mind fo have a Ma Circle in every neighborhood.

More than 20,000 pregnant mamas and new moms have come through our ten Southern California classes before Covid, and now we get to support mamas (and teachers) all over the world.

Ma Yoga is rooted in the five elements of nature, and is based in simple alignment actions to bring space, steadiness, watery playful energy, firey power and freedom into every pose, every body, and every co-creative act.

When you learn these principles in our prenatal yoga teacher training – what I call the “Five Sacred Steps” – you’ll have a guide for everything from teaching a pose to writing a poem to being a mom to co-creating a new career path.

Ma Yoga jessica jennings prenatal certification, prenatal yoga teacher training instructor

We believe prenatal yoga teacher training should be more than lists of do's and don'ts.

I created the Ma Yoga Prenatal Certification Program in 2012 because I believe yoga teacher trainings shouldn’t just teaching you what pregnancy women can’t or shouldn’t do, and they shouldn’t just give you a bunch of videos and pose lists.

For me, a good online Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training gives you a deep experience of practices and principles that help you connect to your own innate wisdom and power, whether you’re pregnant with a baby, a vision, or a new way of showing up in your life.

Pregnancy is a beautiful time for us to learn how to truly nurture ourselves, support the flow of prana (life force), and incorporate simple but powerful routines that will support healing and thriving for our whole lives.

And we can use birth as our guru, and do this anytime.

I named my yoga school Ma Yoga because the root “Ma” means “mother” in almost every language. In Sanskrit it also means “the highest, most powerful and wise.”

Ma Yoga isn’t just about becoming a mother to a baby. It’s also about learning to mother ourselves.

And when we have the right kind of support and guidance to do this, we can begin to embody our highest, most powerful and wise “Ma” Self.

In the Ma Yoga Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training you'll:

Be supported through your own obstacles

Moms-to-be need and deserve to be cared for so they can experience their journey as the miracle it is. In the same way, as you become a prenatal yoga teacher you’ll receive personal support and guidance from Ma Yoga Founder Jessica Jennings, MS, ERYT, RYPT, plus a mentorship so you can apply to teach with us even before the program’s over.

Discover your most meaningful path

There’s no right way to give birth. Similarly, we believe prenatal yoga teacher training should fit with your unique life.

You can join us live on Zoom calls, watch the videos and stay with your group, or do the whole thing on your own time – or any combination of the above.

You’ll have lifetime access to all course materials and the supportive Ma Yoga community.

Align with your authentic Ma Self

Teaching Ma Yoga practices and principles means helping women go from anxious pregnant women to empowered mama bears.

The Ma Yoga Prenatal Teacher Training will not only help you confidently teach prenatal yoga, you’ll also find your own “Ma” voice and teach, practice, and live from a new place of authentic wisdom and power.

The Five Sacred Steps of Alignment will help you...

…adjust yoga poses for different trimesters, skill-levels and physical limitations

…teach inspiring prenatal yoga classes

… relieve common pregnancy aches, including wrist, back, shoulder and neck pain

… help people prevent and heal postpartum issues

… reconnect to your own highest, most powerful, wise and nurturing “Ma” Self

Even if you’ve never had kids, never taught yoga or never taken a yoga teacher training…

…this program will give you all the tools you need to be an expert in yoga for women in their childbearing years, on and off the mat.

The Ma Yoga Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training Journey

Teach mamas to make space for baby plus create a strong container for baby. Address common pregnancy conditions including depression, anxiety and aches and pains. Help moms-to-be enjoy this exciting time.

One in three women report that their birth was traumatic, and Black women are three times more likely to die in childbirth than white women. Help women learn to breathe through intense sensation, gather a nurturing team, and connect to their “ROAR” – so they are ready for an empowering birth.

One in seven mothers experience postpartum depression – and anxiety is becoming even more common. Help women incorporate nurturing practices and routines in advance so they can heal completely postpartum, and help new moms build their bodies back better than ever.

For more on Yoga Alliance and what to do if you don’t have your 200-hour yoga training – here’s a video.

If you do choose to do a 200-hour yoga teacher training (RYT) down the road, you can submit your Ma Yoga Certificate to Yoga Alliance and get your RPYT at that time.

If you feel drawn to teaching prenatal yoga, we highly recommend that you start with this training as the principles you learn are easier to learn first, as a basis for all yoga practices.
