The Ma Yoga Online Prenatal Certification Program

A uniquely nurturing deep dive into feminine wisdom and power

“I love the profound wisdom of the methodology and Jessica, its founder. The Ma Yoga approach is not only beneficial in the time around giving birth, it can change your whole perspective on life.”

– Ann-Christin G.

Start today.

Summer schedules can be really unpredictable (which is good! Hopefully you’ve got some fun in store), so our training is self-paced only until September 13. If you’d like to be Certified by the end of 2023, you still can – do a training over the summer on your own time, and this fall join us live on Zoom for the rest of the 85-hour RPYT Program.

Prenatal yoga training should be more than lists and do's and don'ts.

The Ma Yoga Prenatal Certification Program (RPYT) was created in 2012 to provide not just lists of poses and sequences, but also alignment principles that help teachers feel confident guiding and inspiring pregnant students.

The syllable “Ma” in almost every language means “mother”. In Sanskrit it also means “the highest, most powerful and wise.”

Ma Yoga isn’t just about learning to be a mother to a baby. It’s about learning to mother ourselves.

The Ma Yoga Prenatal Certification program will give you so much more than  do’s and don’ts.

You’ll learn principles and practices that help moms-to-be relieve aches and pains, support optimal positioning for baby, prepare for labor and motherhood – and become the “Ma” they want to be.

What opportunity does pregnancy bring?

Turn nurturing energy inward

You’ll receive personal support and guidance from Ma Yoga Founder Jessica Jennings, MS, ERYT, RYPT, plus other Ma Yoga teachers and experts throughout your 85-hour journey as you incorporate simple but powerful principles into your practice and your life.

Follow your own path

You can join us live on Zoom calls, watch the videos and stay with your group, or do it on your own time. You’ll have lifetime access to all course materials and the supportive Ma Yoga community all the same.

Align with your power and wisdom

You’ll not only feel confident teaching yoga to pregnant mamas and new moms, you’ll learn alignment principles and practices that help you be a powerful co-creator in your own life, no matter what you’re pregnant with: a baby, a project, or a new way of offering your gifts to the world.

Hi I’m Jessica Jennings. I’m so glad you found me!

I created Ma Yoga® as a new mom in 2009 to help women feel nurtured and connected, get stronger inside and out, relieve their own aches and pains, and become the “Ma” they want to be.

More than 25,000 pregnant mamas and new moms have come through our classes, and learned simple but powerful practices that help them feel supported, grounded, and spacious.

Ma Yoga is based in the five elements of nature, and teaches simple alignment actions to bring space, steadiness, watery playful energy, firey power and freedom into every pose.

When you learn these principles – what I call the “Five Sacred Steps” – you will have a guide for every co-creative act, from teaching a pose to writing a poem to being a mom to fulfilling your own deepest desires for your life.

The Five Sacred Steps of Alignment will help you...

…adjust yoga poses for different trimesters, skill-levels and physical limitations

…teach inspiring prenatal yoga classes

… relieve common pregnancy aches, including wrist, back, shoulder and neck pain

… prevent and heal postpartum issues

… reconnect to your own highest, most powerful, wise and nurturing “Ma” Self

Even if you’ve never had kids, taught yoga OR taken a yoga teacher training, you will become an expert in yoga for women in their childbearing years.

The Ma Yoga Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training Journey

Teach mamas to make space for baby plus create a strong container for baby. Address common pregnancy conditions including depression, anxiety and aches and pains. Help moms-to-be enjoy this exciting time.

One in three women report that their birth was traumatic, and Black women are three times more likely to die in childbirth than white women. Help women learn to breathe through intense sensation, gather a nurturing team, and connect to their “ROAR” – so they are ready for an empowering birth.

One in seven mothers experience postpartum depression – and anxiety is becoming even more common. Help women incorporate nurturing practices and routines in advance so they can heal completely postpartum, and help new moms build their bodies back better than ever.

If you do decide to do a regular training in the future, you’ll have a leg up as you will learn foundational alignment principles that will help you in any trainings or teaching you do.

If you do choose to do a 200-hour yoga teacher training (RYT) down the road, you can submit your Ma Yoga Certificate to Yoga Alliance and get your RPYT at that time.

If you feel drawn to teaching prenatal yoga, we highly recommend that you start with this training as the principles you learn are easier to learn first, as a basis for all yoga practices.
