Hi I’m Jessica Jennings. I’m so glad you found your way here.

I created Ma Yoga® as a new mom in 2009 with a vision for a “Ma Circle” in every neighborhood.

More than 18,000 pregnant mamas and new moms came through our ten Southern California classes before Covid, and we’ve trained hundreds of teachers online.

The root “Ma” means “mother” in almost every language. In Sanskrit it also means “the highest, most powerful and wise.”

Ma Yoga isn’t just about becoming a mother to a baby. It’s also about learning to mother ourselves, on and off-the-mat.

And when we do, we being to embody our highest, most powerful and wise “Ma” Self.

Ma Yoga jessica jennings prenatal certification, prenatal yoga teacher training instructor

This training is so well put together, the information is infinite, and I have a whole new love for pregnancy and motherhood.

I can’t wait to one day teach with and be part of Ma Yoga!

Mandy Johnson

I feel so much more confident about teaching, which is amazing because I didn’t feel that way after my 200 hour.

Annie

After this training, I feel connected to sacred life amidst universal challenge and change. What worked: a small group, combination lecture/ sharing/ workbook/ videos/ practice teaching. And the pure spirit of “Jess”.

Don’t hesitate. Do it! Be receptive. Have faith in the process. It is a gift to me personally and to ALL.

Nina R.

I have only just begun this program and I am impressed!

I’m glad that it was over time and not just a quick training and then you’re done. It gives you time to absorb the material and integrate it into my own teaching.

Angela R.

The Ma Yoga Prenatal Teacher Training has truly been a metamorphosis both personally and professionally.

Jessica and the team at Ma Yoga have created a certification made up of crucial components, which allow you to build upon your knowledge and training, improving and empowering your teaching and your own life.

Andy

I had a wonderful experience with Ma Yoga. Jessica is always available and quick to respond to any questions. She wants you to be successful.

Through Ma Yoga I feel empowered as a working mom instead of apprehensive or lost in a corporate job that doesn’t want to accept my new life as a mother.

Jolie S.

Empowerment and care for this whole community is at the core of all that Ma Yoga does. I am at a totally different place than I was before I started on my Ma Yoga journey. I still have a long way to go, but I want to do it and keep doing it… I love it!

Thank you Jessica and all at Ma Yoga. You are truly inspirational.

Annie P.

I researched courses across the United States, and when I found Ma Yoga training and Jess….I knew I found something very special and excellent.

What should not have surprised me, is how much I benefited from this incredible training.

The principles taught are amazing and make sense; allowing even new instructors to teach with wise techniques and keep students safe.

Maureen F. from our Google listing

The Ma Yoga alignment principles - or the "Five Sacred Steps" are all you need to confidently...

…adjust yoga poses for different trimesters, skill-levels and physical limitations

…teach inspiring prenatal yoga classes

… relieve common pregnancy aches, including wrist, back, shoulder and neck pain

… help people prevent and heal postpartum issues

… reconnect to your own highest, most powerful, wise and nurturing “Ma” Self

Even if you’ve never had kids, never taught yoga or never taken a yoga teacher training…

…this program will enable you to teach yoga to moms and moms-to-be – safely, therapeutically, and transformatively.

It's a prenatal yoga teacher training that goes way beyond lists of do's and don'ts.

I created the Ma Yoga Prenatal Certification Program in 2012 after teaching prenatal yoga for more than a decade, both in yoga studio and in hospital settings.

I had also just become a mom, and felt depleted, anxious, and isolated – even though I’d been teaching prental yoga for years.

I realized that pregnancy isn’t just a challenging transition – it’s also an opportunity for all of us to slow down, listen inward and learn to truly take care of ourselves.

To give birth not only to our baby, and to us as mother to this baby – but us as mother to ourselves.

I had seen that with the right kind of guidance and ongoing support, it can be an opportunity: to step into our highest, most powerful and wise “Ma” Self.

I drew from principles I’d learned in both my Masters in Kinesiology as well as my alignment-based yoga training to develop a curriculum that can guide us through pregnancy – physically, mentally/emotionally, energetically and spiritually.

Using the five natural elements, we can receive (space), find our strength (earth), release our anxiety (water), root in to our power (fire) and freely offer our gifts (air).

Whether you’re pregnant with a baby, a project or a vision for who you’re becoming, the Five Sacred Steps will allow you to birth  it into the world in your most authentic, meaningful, and empowering way.

In the Ma Yoga Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training you'll:

Be supported through your own obstacles

Moms-to-be need and deserve to be cared for so they can experience their journey as the miracle it is. In the same way, as you become a prenatal yoga teacher you’ll receive personal support and guidance from Ma Yoga Founder Jessica Jennings, MS, ERYT, RYPT, plus a mentorship so you can apply to teach with us even before the program’s over.

Discover your most meaningful path

There’s no right way to give birth. Similarly, we believe prenatal yoga teacher training should fit with your unique life.

You can join us live on Zoom calls, watch the videos and stay with your group, or do the whole thing on your own time – or any combination of the above.

You’ll have lifetime access to all course materials and the supportive Ma Yoga community.

Align with your authentic Ma Self

Teaching Ma Yoga practices and principles means helping women go from anxious pregnant women to empowered mama bears.

The Ma Yoga Prenatal Teacher Training will not only help you confidently teach prenatal yoga, you’ll also find your own “Ma” voice and teach, practice, and live from a new place of authentic wisdom and power.

The Ma Yoga Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training Journey

Teach mamas to make space for baby plus create a strong container for baby. Address common pregnancy conditions including depression, anxiety and aches and pains. Help moms-to-be enjoy this exciting time.

One in three women report that their birth was traumatic, and Black women are three times more likely to die in childbirth than white women. Help women learn to breathe through intense sensation, gather a nurturing team, and connect to their “ROAR” – so they are ready for an empowering birth.

One in seven mothers experience postpartum depression – and anxiety is becoming even more common. Help women incorporate nurturing practices and routines in advance so they can heal completely postpartum, and help new moms build their bodies back better than ever.
