Is becoming a new mom really that hard?

nicole_baby_favs-3-2It can be. It often is. Ok, I’ll say it, it was for me. And I had already been studying yoga, Ayurveda, and motherhood for years. So I feel like it’s part of my purpose in life to say that the journey to motherhood and beyond can be the most challenging, difficult, isolating, crazy-making time in our lives.

And also, of course, the most inspiring, awakening, growth-filled time, when if we are paying attention, we can step onto a path that is more meaningful and authentic than ever before.

But we need support so we can stay steady, healthy, and receptive.  To not get knocked off our feet.

As moms, we sacrifice so much: time to take a shower; often our career as it was; our sense of ourselves as someone able to complete a task.

Do you know how to easily, quickly, get whole and living foods into your body so you can stay healthy and energized?

You’re not alone

Jessica sitting374It’s Jessica here. I founded Ma Yoga because I get it. Wherever you are in the process, I’ve been there, or somewhere close.

I was trying to get pregnant for two years, and each month when my period came, I’d cancel everything, turn on old episodes of Sex in the City and cry.

I was pregnant with all the usual neuroses, aches and pains, and all the very valid worries.

And I was an isolated, exhausted, and depleted new mom who experienced some health issues as a result of not understanding how to support the healing process post-partum.

Ma Yoga® for Pregnancy, Motherhood & Beyond was born from these struggles.  As a Lifestyle Educator at Kaiser for 6 years, I saw how this transformative time changes lives permanently. And with just a bit of guidance, this change could be an awakening, an opening to one’s true, Divine, creative and authentic Self.

Becoming a mom is kind of like when a plane takes off – if it’s a long flight, just a few degrees of turn at the beginning can make the difference between arriving where you want to be, vs. somewhere else.  Just a bit of teaching for mamas both on and off the mat can make the difference between isolation, exhaustion and blues, vs. fulfillment, connection and thriving health and happiness.

It isn’t just a yoga practice that teaches how to adjust your yoga poses to accommodate baby.

It’s a lifestyle practice that helps you adjust your life to accommodate a whole new you.
