We wanted to share the exciting news that our baby girl, Zoe Patricia Wagner, arrived safely last Thursday 08/09!!
What a life altering and affirming experience. My husband, Chris, and I are in heaven – we are so in love with our miracle.
Here’s how everything went…labor started about 5 am the morning of the 9th and 14 hours later she arrived.
Chris and I labored at home for several hours and our doula arrived mid-morning. Zoe was sunny side up so folks had warned me that this would mean back labor. Wow, was that ever a true statement! The back labor was so intense but with the help of my doula, my hypno-birthing and my yoga techniques we kept on going.
We arrived at the hospital around 3 pm and I was certain I would only be about 4-5, but to everyone’s surprise I was already dilated to about 8 1/2. At that point I really thought – ok I can actually do this without medication. My waters broke at the hospital. There was a bubble of waters in the way a bit, so after my doctor broke the remainder things progressed even more rapidly.
When I was just about 10 we decided to start pushing. I pushed on my right side for awhile, then up on my knees, then on my left side. At some point during all the laboring techniques,or while pushing, Zoe did end up turning and after about 45-50 minutes of pushing she was delivered at 6.51pm, 7 lbs 9 oz and 19 inches long!! And our world has forever been changed!
Love,
Becca, Chris, and Zoe!
