Get Back to Zero

On our yoga mat, we strive for economy of action. Why leave it on the mat?

For me this means brevity, simplicity, and choosing only what is necessary.

In our culture of excess – smart phones, big portions, great talks to listen to and videos to watch – I choose less this week.

Only the most nourishing food, inspiring teachers, and practices that deeply cleanse.

When we take things back to the zero point (in yoga it is sometimes called the Ground of Being), we find that it is far from nothing: great joy, nourishment, and growth awaits.

If your schedule feels like too much, if the sheer quantity of everything is blocking you from your source of energy and wisdom…

– Find some time for silence: get there early, and take a 15 minute walk

– Talk less and listen more

– Eat only deeply nourishing, natural foods.

– Turn off all screens at 6pm and see what happens

– Close your eyes and step out of the river

– Do yoga to simplify your day, and to remember what life is: breathe and move, breathe and move…each conscious breath connects 3rd eye (wisdom) to your heart

And that, Mama, is all you need.

Thank you for spreading the Ma love!
